Local Residents Grow Their Own

We held a successful Grow Your Own Day yesterday here at the Grange to promote both the Community Reporters programme and Edge Lane Allotments.As part of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Brian and Patrick from Edge Lane Allotments, http://boftheblog.com/edge-lane-allotments, got their hands dirty showing local residents how to pot their own plants and grow vegetables such as onions, beans and garlic from seeds.Residents were able to take away cuttings and plants to grow themselves."It was so successful we ran out of stuff so had to close up shop early", says Jessica Mayo.Community Reporters were on hand to record the day.
