I received 2 letters from a prison, Strangeways in Manchester. One from a person, French speaking, that I know longtime from back home and the second from an unknown person. The first letter arrived yesterday, introducing his friend wo is living in the same wing and asking me to contact his neighbour to let him know that he is in the prison and would like to talk with him. I did so.This morning, I received the second letter and I was just surprised that a person who doesn't know me asking me to help him. He explained me why he was arrested. I made some phone calls to find his friend in Manchester, also to find the way we can help him as a French speaking with language barrier. He was arrrested at the Liverpool Aeroport on the 23/05/2008. Hope my help will be helpfull and I booked an appointment for a visit to the prison. I have been in same prison to visit a friend but this time is for an unkown person coming freshly from the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is a brief translation: he said: Having heard that you have a legal community in this country toassist migrants in difficulty: I come near you so that you can, ifpossible, bring me your help. In any case, my case is very complex anddelicate because I was arrested coming here in the Liverpool Airport ....Isn't it wonderfull? The African Francophone Integration Project helps anybody with language barrier, especially French spesking, and our services are free. just let us know your problem. I can't tell you more but just to let you know that am helping.Raphael Ngoma Tsasa,AFIP Vice chair-Community Advice Worker
