Local Residents Grow Their Own

We held a successful Grow Your Own Day yesterday here at the Grange to promote both the Community Reporters programme and Edge Lane Allotments.As part of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Brian and Patrick from Edge Lane Allotments, http://boftheblog.com/edge-lane-allotments, got their hands dirty showing local residents how to pot their own plants and grow vegetables such as onions, beans and garlic from seeds.Residents were able to take away cuttings and plants to grow themselves.

A school dance will be open for beginners.

Rangot and Country Rumba is an African Band that plays Rumba music from Congo. We accept people from any background.

The last performance was held at the East Manchester City Stadium: MARIM EVENT: 22/09/2008.

Julia was on work experience with MCIN last week.She was based at the Salford Social Media Centre for the first half of the week and spent Thursday and Friday here at MCIN's offices at the Grange in Beswick.On Thursday she shadowed David Kay, who was running a session at Victoria House in Openshaw. On Friday she went with Jessica Pasteiner to Levenshulme Allotments.Julia also interviewed Katrina and Chris from Parktastic, who are based here at the Grange. Julia edited the video, which has now been posted to YouTube, and you can watch it below.
