Drivers who fail to pay fines will have cars towed

Motorists who fail to pay three parking tickets face having their cars clamped or even towed away under new laws due to take effect in two months.

Council-employed traffic wardens will gain the power to take immediate action if they notice a car with three unpaid parking fines, even if the vehicle is parked legally at the time. The owner will only be able to reclaim the car once the fines have been paid.

1bn waterfront haven dream gets underway soon

WORK on a massive £1billion project to build 4,300 new homes in east Manchester will soon get under way.

The 95-acre Holt Town Waterfront - between Miles Platting, Sportcity and New Islington - is the largest planning application ever to be approved in Manchester, as well as being one of the largest regeneration projects in the UK.

Million hits for £7 movie

TWO film-making friends with a budget of just £7 have become an internet sensation.

Olivia, Explorer, the latest film project by Francesca Sophia, 19, and Hayley Stuart, 20, has chalked up more than a million hits and scores of rave reviews after being picked to appear on YouTube's global website.

The short film - which stars Francesca's seven-year-old niece, Olivia - follows the adventures of a girl who gets left behind when her family go on holiday to Wales.

Results Of Britains First Global Visa Review

Tough new visa regimes could be introduced for 11 countries following the first global review of who needs a visa to come to the UK, the Government announced today.

Everyone applying for a UK visa now has their fingerprints checked before their identity is fixed.  So far more than two million sets of fingerprints have been collected with checks flagging up almost 3,000 attempted identity swaps.

Overview
About 80 percent of Bangladeshis are Muslims, making Bangladesh one of the largest Muslim countries in the world. The Muslim community in Bangladesh tends to be accomodating to other faiths and beliefs and Bangladesh is known for its lack of communal strife.

Hinduism is professed by about 13 percent of the population. There are also significant numbers of Buddhists in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh also has a very small Christian community.
